Over the past few weeks, I have been working with several customers on preparing their abstracts for ASUG / SAPPHIRE NOW and some upcoming webcasts. By using SAP Screen Personas to simplify their screens and make them more intuitive, they are fulfilling the promise of productivity through personalization. While I will not reveal their full stories, or even the customer names at this point (all will be publically shared at SAPPHIRE NOW), I would like to share some of the early Personas successes.
Boost call center reps productivity by 233% with SAP Screen Personas
A manufacturing company has a 24/7 operations center to service the needs of its global customers. They run SAP to create notifications and track their products throughout their lifecycle.
By simplifying the screens that first level call center staff use (transaction IW51), they were able to reduce the time it takes to create a notification from 10 minutes (6 per hour) down to 3 minutes (20 per hour). This is a productivity improvement of 233%. Now, operators enter all information on a single screen, rather than the multiple screens and tabs with unmodified SAP. In addition to the productivity improvement, they are also able to save money on training.
Simplify sales quotation process from 8 SAP GUI screens to 2 Personas screens
A medical technology company relies on SAP to configure quotations and manage the wide variety of options available for their highly configurable systems that include hardware, software, and regional preferences.
Their sales reps generate the quote and then configure the order in SAP (VA22). Previously, they were frustrated by the number of clicks to get this done. With the streamlined process that they built using SAP Screen Personas, they were able to reduce the number of screens from eight to two. When someone from the SAP application team demoed this at their sales conference, he received a standing ovation.
Personas increases user efficiency by up to 500%
An entertainment technology company is simplifying the SAP user interface and increasing user efficiency by leveraging SAP Screen Personas.
Using SAP Screen Personas, they were able to reduce the steps required for one of their most common transactions, create “equipment” (IE01), from approximately 30 to only five. The project goal was to provide quick and intuitive access to the most commonly used transactions, simplify the user interface, and eliminate non-value added data entry. Clearly they have achieved this.
There are other customers around the world achieving similar results with SAP Screen Personas.
Look for more details on the above scenarios as well as screen shots during our upcoming customer webcast series and at SAPPHIRE NOW.
